Do they have holes in them?
Yes. Standard pleated shades have tiny “pinholes” where the lift cords pass through the fabric. If you want to eliminate these pinholes of light and hide the cords, we highly recommend adding a Privacy or Blackout Liner.
Are they energy efficient?

Not particularly. Because they are made of a single layer of fabric, they do not offer significant insulation. If energy savings and draft protection are your top priority for NJ winters, we recommend checking out our Honeycomb Shades instead.
