Window Treatment Visualizer

Window Treatment Visualizer

Light, exactly the way you want it — hour by hour.

Move a real North Jersey living room through the day and watch how a solar shade and a room-darkening shade each handle the sun. Same window, same light, very different rooms.

Solar openness 1 / 3 / 5 / 7 / 10% — light through and glare both fall with the weave · Room darkening 3% with header and side seepage · Blackout frame seals the opening for 0% at every hour and is available on room-darkening fabric only — daytime light in that state is borrowed from the dining room.

What you're seeing

Two fabrics, three jobs

The simulator shows the two fabric families most North Jersey rooms come down to. Each one comes in more than one opacity — that choice, more than the style, is what sets how a room feels at noon and at midnight.

Solar — light filtering

A tighter or looser weave that cuts glare and UV while keeping the view and the daylight. Living rooms, kitchens, home offices, hard west glass.

Room darkening

A dense fabric that blocks most light, with a soft glow left where it stops short of the frame. Bedrooms and media rooms that still want a little daylight.

Room darkening + blackout frame

Side channels, a header and a sill seal the whole opening for true 0% at every hour. Nurseries, shift-worker bedrooms, home theaters.

How it works

From a rough idea to a firm quote

Scrub through the day

Drag the sun from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and watch glare, view, and room brightness change with the fabric you picked.

Compare the two fabrics

Switch between solar and room darkening, try the openness factors, and add the blackout frame to see what a full seal does.

Questions

Before you book

How accurate is this window treatment visualizer?
It is a design guide, not a photorealistic render. On-screen color, weave, and opacity shift with your room's light, wall color, and window size. Use it to narrow down a fabric and a light level; we bring physical samples to your consultation so you can see the actual fabric on your actual windows.
What's the difference between light-filtering, room-darkening, and blackout shades?
Light-filtering (solar) fabrics diffuse sunlight and cut glare while keeping the room bright. Room-darkening fabrics block most light but leave a soft glow at the edges. Blackout fabrics stop essentially all light and are best for bedrooms, nurseries, and media rooms; adding side channels creates a full seal.
How much do custom window treatments cost in North Jersey?
Most custom window treatments in North Jersey run from roughly $250–$500 per window for standard-size blinds and shades to $1,200 or more per window for motorized, specialty-shape, or premium designer fabrics. Because every treatment is measured and made to order, we give you a firm, itemized quote at your free in-home consultation — with no obligation.
Can I preview motorized shades?
The visualizer shows fabric and light behavior; motorization changes how a shade operates, not how it looks. We carry motorized and app-controlled options across most styles and demonstrate them in person. See our motorized shades page for details.
Is the in-home consultation really free?
Yes. A design consultant comes to your home, measures your windows, shows you samples in your own light, and prepares a written quote. There is no charge and no obligation to buy.
Which brands of window treatments do you carry?
We work with Hunter Douglas, SunPro, ALTA, Graber, Norman, Horizons, Fabricut, and Rainier, and match the brand and product line to your room, budget, and light needs rather than to showroom stock.
What areas of North Jersey do you serve?
We serve Bergen, Passaic, Morris, Sussex, and Essex counties from our West Milford base, including Ridgewood, Wyckoff, Kinnelon, Sparta, Vernon, and the surrounding towns.
